What do a t-shirt line, Oregon wines, and an award-winning chef & somm/winemaker have in common? (Hint: personality and passion would certainly top the list.) In a not-to-be-missed (nor sooner forgotten) communal dinner, Chef Joseph Paire (@chefjosephl) is teaming up with André Mack (@andrehmack)—named Best Young Sommelier in America—for a lively, social experience. The idea for this fun & funky brand pairing is the product of the team of Barcelona’s sister wine store, VinoTeca, always thinking outside the box. If the menu alone doesn’t give it away, guests are in for a wild ride that will be equal parts racy and rad.

ABOUT CHEF JOSEPH PAIRE
Joseph Paire developed a passion for cooking at a very young age. He grew up going to farmer’s markets with his mother and grandmother and helping out with family dinners. A native of Washington D.C., Paire graduated from Johnson & Wales University with degrees in both Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. Following graduation, Paire returned to his hometown to become part of the blossoming food scene in D.C., and trained under such notable chefs as Robert Gadsby and Todd Gray. At just 24 years old, Paire took on the role of Sous Chef at Jackson 20 at the Kimpton Hotel, before continuing on as Executive Chef to open up Mulebone, with stellar reviews from The Washington Post.
Now as Executive Chef of the Barcelona Westside Ironworks location, Joseph contributes a playful, yet thoughtful perspective to the menu, that is always reflective of his cooking style. When not in the kitchen, you can often find Joseph «All the Way Live» on his social channels, sharing his infectious personality and amazing creations.
ABOUT ANDRÉ MACK
Despite having a successful career with Citicorp Investment Services, André Hueston Mack decided to leave his “desk job” to pursue his passion for wine. While working as a sommelier in San Antonio, Mack discovered the joys of introducing guests to the little-known vineyards that first attracted him to the business and “the instant gratification of a guest’s reaction.” While still in Texas, Mack was awarded the prestigious title of Best Young Sommelier in America by the highly regarded Chaine des Rotisseurs. This recognition propelled him into the opportunity to work as a sommelier at Thomas Keller’s world-renowned The French Laundry in Yountville, California. Mack went on to accept the position of Head Sommelier at Keller’s equally famed Per Se in New York City, where he managed an 1800 selection award-winning wine list and consulted with Chef Keller on the menu and pairing development regularly. Winemaking has always been a dream of his and came to fruition when he set up shop under the moniker of Maison Noir Wines. Throughout his career, Mack has forged unique relationships with luminary growers and winemakers from around the planet. It is with this prestigious group that Mack currently creates his wines.
